Flesh is a dance piece that originated from the previous work Es como ver nubes.
Flesh is a contemporary dance piece which brings physicality to the core of dramatic composition. Originated by exploring head movements possibilities: head as a driving force of the movement, as an isolated, an abandoned part of the body, absence of the head, connection of two heads, two bodies without head, possessing the head with the hands and etc. Duality as the main idea of the work evolved from the symbology of the body and its movement. The duality and the relation between the body and the head, between two bodies, two beings, the intention of union, conflict and concord, tension and comfort.
Images that emerged from the guidelines that were used in the investigation process have emotional and symbolic content related with these concepts: control-chaos, rationality-irrationality, civilization-primitiveness, humanity- animality, dominance-submission, identity and lack of identity.
Flesh reveals the marvelous power of dance abstraction from which originates direct and complex language from body to body.
Flesh brings to the scene flesh in itself, alive and in movement. Body-flesh is from where one embraces life, experience conflicts, bring up to date and question the dualities.
